CAWA Announces 2015 Scholarship Winners

CAWA provided a total of $11,500 in scholarships this year to 13 individuals.

CAWA - LogoSACRAMENTO, Calif. – CAWA has announced the recipients of its 2015 scholarship awards. CAWA provided a total of $11,500 in scholarships this year to 13 individuals. “Once again, CAWA is proud to assist these young people in pursuing their careers inthe auto care industry,” said Rodney Pierini, president and CEO, in announcing the awards.

Recipients of the scholarships include:

  • Brendan Gerrity – University of Washington
  • Esther Son – Skyline College
  • Jonathan Lee – San Bernardino Valley College
  • Jonathan MacLeod – DeAnza College
  • Jonathan Montes – Chaffey College
  • Justin Holmquist – Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
  • Kianna Silva, The Mort Schwartz Award – Santa Barbara City College
  • Luis Cendejas Moreno – Bakersfield College
  • Michael Rukov – DeVos Graduate School
  • Pedro Ortega – Citrus College
  • Perla Veloz – Ferris State University
  • Walter Wright – Umpqua Community College
  • Zachary Mueller – Cal Poly Pomona

The primary fundraising effort for the scholarship fund takes place at CAWA’s annual dinner meeting held the Sunday night before the AAPEX and SEMA shows. This year, it will be held Nov. 1 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Scholarship funding also comes, in part, from a grant provided by the University of the Aftermarket Foundation and events at CAWA leadership days.
