Carlisle Acquires Chinese Brake Business

Carlisle Motion Control Industries, a subsidiary of Carlisle Companies, has purchased 100 percent of the heavy-duty brake lining and brake shoe assets of Zhejiang Kete located in Hangzhou, China. Through this acquisition, Carlisle will increase its friction block capacity by more than 40 percent and add new OE quality brake shoes to its product offering.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — Carlisle Motion Control Industries, a subsidiary of Carlisle Companies, has purchased 100 percent of the heavy-duty brake lining and brake shoe assets of Zhejiang Kete located in Hangzhou, China. Through this acquisition, Carlisle will increase its friction block capacity by more than 40 percent and add new OE quality brake shoes to its product offering.

Carlisle said this move enables the company to more economically service markets in China, Malaysia and Australia, as well as supplementing the company’s domestic friction capacity to better serve the North American market. The Carlisle Hangzhou facility’s quality systems meet the requirements of the QS9000 standard.
