The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) is reporting consistent growth for the 2016 exhibition, taking place May 19-21 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center in China. The third annual event will feature a new sector, called the “Commercial Vehicle Zone,” to accommodate an ever-expanding demand within the commercial vehicle industry.
In its three short years, CAPAS has made a substantial name for itself in Southwest China’s automotive industry. Event organizers say the show offers new business opportunities and valuable connections to exhibitors and visitors alike on the domestic and international stages. Now, with the new Commercial Vehicle Zone sector highlighted, more business connections will be made possible in the zone co-organized with the China Commercial Vehicle Parts Market Federation.
The commercial vehicle industry is continually growing and its expansion also stands to benefit from the “Silk Road Economic Belt” and the 21st century “Maritime Silk Road initiative,” also known as “The Belt and Road Initiative.” This is a substantial development approach initiated by the Chinese government to connect, promote and foster more cooperation among countries along the land-based Silk Road Economic Belt and the ocean-going Maritime Silk Road. This concept plans to connect China’s Western, Central and Eastern regions, as well as parts of Eurasia and regions of Africa.
This strategy is intended as a way to integrate markets and increase economic cooperation, while introducing new trading landscapes. The investment possibilities of this initiative are endless, CAPAS Chengdu organizers commented, adding that this will bolster a more integrated development within various regions of China and beyond. As a result, the commercial vehicle industry will have a greater and more positive development capacity in the future.
It is in response to these expanding market trends that the Commercial Vehicle Zone will be launched at CAPAS 2016. The China Commercial Vehicle Parts Market Federation members, including commercial vehicle manufacturers and manufacturers’ dealers, distributors and repair shops in Southwest China will feature their high-quality products and innovative technologies in the newly-unveiled Commercial Vehicle Zone. The federation also will help promote the exhibition through its extensive online platform.
In addition, the federation also will co-organize an industry-related “fringe program,” that will offer opportunities for knowledge exchange through training, activities, seminars, product presentations and networking events in the Commercial Vehicle Zone and other related automotive parts and aftermarket services topics. The fringe program offers a unique connection between industry players and professionals to further explore business opportunities and promote the growth of the industry.

Of the 16,000 expected global buyers, more than 500 qualified professional distributors and repair shop representatives also will be invited by the China Commercial Vehicle Parts Market Federation to attend the exhibition and the new “Commercial Vehicle Zone.” CAPAS continues to evolve with the changing market of Southwest China and has established itself as the one-stop trade platform for the automotive parts and aftermarket services sector in the region.
