Brembo Inaugurates New Nanjing Production Center

The new facility will serve Brembo's European customers' plants that manufacture cars and commercial vehicles in Asia. The center integrates a foundry, 41 production lines for brake discs and braking systems, as well as a research and development center.

NANJING, China – The Brembo Group this week officially opened its new manufacturing center in Nanjing, China.

Brembo President Alberto Bombassei and representatives of the Italian and Chinese governments were in attendance at the opening ceremony.

With more than 10 years in the Chinese market, Brembo has concentrated production activities for the Group into a single area on the outskirts of the city of Nanjing. All stages of the production value chain, from arrival of raw materials to shipment of finished products, have been integrated into the new site. Total planned investment for the center is 70 million euros (approximately $93 million).

The plants employ 850 people, with expected employment of 1,000 when at full capacity. With 41 production lines for brake discs and brake systems, as well as a foundry, Brembo expects to be able to produce about 6 million brake discs a year in Nanjing.

"It’s a great pleasure to inaugurate this new production center in China, a country that represents one of the most promising markets for the future of our Group in Asia, considering the enormous potential of development of the automotive industry," said Bombassei.
