RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. Bob Wilkes, director of product development, Bosch Brake Components LLC in Chicago, Ill., was elected 2011-2012 chairman of the Brake Manufacturers Council (BMC) of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) and the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA). His election was announced at the council’s Annual Membership Meeting, held recently in Naples, Fla.
Other newly elected AASA/MEMA Brake Manufacturers Council officers include:
First Vice Chairman Frank Oliveto, vice president, industry relations, ADVICS North America, Plymouth, Mich.;
Second Vice Chairman Ken Selinger, director of marketing, North American Friction, Federal-Mogul Corp., Southfield, Mich.; and
Secretary: Robert Lee, president, OE Quality Friction, Mississauga, Ontario.
Outgoing Chairman Rick Jamieson, CEO, ABS Friction, Chicago, Ill., will continue to serve as immediate past chairman.
Other BMC officers include Managing Director Steve Handschuh, president and COO of AASA, and Staff Executive Jack Cameron, vice president, AASA.
