Blink Charging UK, Evri Collaborate to Electrify Courier Fleet

EV chargers installed at Rugby enhance Evri's sustainability efforts, supporting a greener future in parcel delivery across the UK.

Blink Charging UK, a subsidiary of Blink Charging Co., is working with Evri, the UK’s largest parcel delivery company, to install electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs at Evri facilities, starting with a site in Rugby, UK. The installation at Rugby is part of a broader initiative to add EV chargers at various Evri locations throughout the UK, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2035. Evri chose Blink Charging for its reliable, scalable EV equipment and expertise in fleet operations, the companies noted in a press release.

The Rugby charging hub operates 24 hours a day, with chargers in use 60-80% of the time. The hub features the Eve Single Pro line smart chargers, capable of charging a vehicle up to 22kW. These chargers meet all applicable standards, including IEC 61851:2017.

EVRi and Blink team up

Rugby’s automated parcel distribution hub processes over one million parcels daily. The installation of Blink chargers supports Evri’s strategy to expand its low-emission fleet, which currently includes 167 electric vans and a growing number of e-cargo bikes, the company said.

Alex Calnan, managing director of Blink Charging UK, noted the significance of supporting Evri’s transition to zero-emission delivery services. Pauline Potter, Evri’s director of procurement and sustainability, emphasized the partnership’s role in advancing Evri’s sustainability goals and installing EV charging infrastructure for its fleet in Rugby.

Blink Charging UK, with more than 2,000 chargers across the United Kingdom and Ireland, serves various sectors and plans to expand its range of commercial and residential chargers, network services, and fleet management tools.
