RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. Can private equity offer the capital and diverse market experience to power a new level of business for the automotive aftermarket? Tony Cristello, senior vice president at BB&T Capital Markets Equity Research, and a panel of leading private equity executives will examine this topic in “Under the Hood: How Private Equity Is Changing the Automotive Aftermarket” the theme of the 2011 Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) Executive Breakfast. The annual AASA Executive Breakfast takes place Nov. 2 during Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas.
Cristello will moderate a panel discussion featuring leaders of private equity companies with a current focus on the aftermarket at the annual AASA Executive Breakfast, the kick-off event on AAPEX’s opening day, set for 7-8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at The Venetian.
“Private equity firms are major players in the automotive aftermarket through their current and past investments in such well-known and respected companies such as Affinia, BBB, Cooper Standard, Dayco, Dura, Honeywell Consumer Products Group, OE Quality Friction, Tompkins/Gates, Transtar, TRW, United Components Inc. just to name a few,” said Steve Handschuh, president and COO of AASA.
“Our industry has much to gain from the ‘other industry’ experience these experts can share,” he added. “As is our tradition at the AASA Executive Breakfast during AAPEX, we anticipate a lively question and answer session between the panel and the audience of top aftermarket professionals. This very popular portion of our program will provide insights for attendees and speaker.”
More than 700 attendees are expected at this year’s AASA Executive Breakfast during AAPEX. The audience will include executives from top North American automotive aftermarket suppliers and management teams from the leading aftermarket resellers and distributors.
Ernst & Young is the exclusive sponsor of the AASA Executive Breakfast during AAPEX.
