AWDA Memorial Scholarship Fund Re-Named Art Fisher Memorial Scholarship Fund

The AWDA Memorial Scholarship Fund, which benefits students pursuing automotive aftermarket careers, has been re-named the Art Fisher Memorial Scholarship Fund.

LAS VEGAS — The AWDA Memorial Scholarship Fund, which benefits students pursuing automotive aftermarket careers, has been re-named the Art Fisher Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The name change is in honor of Fisher, the late CEO of Fisher Auto Parts and founder of Federated Auto Parts Distributors. The new name was announced October 31 by AWDA Chairman Richard Beirne at the annual AWDA reception held in Las Vegas.

“This scholarship is a great tribute to a great man,” said Beirne. “Art began his career as a teacher and served as a tremendous mentor and teacher to his employees and many others in the aftermarket. This scholarship will be a tribute to Art’s numerous contributions to the industry as well as his life-long love for education. We look forward to presenting these scholarships for many years to come.”

Every year, the funds from the Art Fisher Memorial Scholarship program will be presented to two undergraduate students who are enrolled in a program of study focusing on the automotive aftermarket. Donations go to the University Aftermarket Fund.

The 2004 award winners will be announced at a later date.

Individuals interested in donating to the scholarship can send donations to:
