BETHESDA, Md. – Automotive instructors are invited to the inaugural Inside AAPEX for Automotive Instructors on Wednesday, Oct. 31 and Thursday, Nov. 1 at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas. Attendees will learn about new technology, meet with manufacturer product managers and trainers and earn National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) credit hours.

The program features a special session from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, which includes the education session, “The Impact of Dissimilar Coolants on the Automotive Coolant System,” led by Ed Eaton, Amalgatech, followed by the forum, “Instructor Challenges/What Can the Industry Do To Support You,” led by representatives of sponsoring organizations.

In addition, instructors may earn NATEF credit hours by attending “The Impact of Dissimilar Coolants on the Automotive Coolant System,” “Start/Stop Technology: It’s Coming Your Way” and “Advanced Driveability and Diagnostics: Properly Diagnose the First Time,” beginning on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 8:30 a.m. Each session is accredited for one hour.

Instructors also will have access to the AAPEX show floor to view the latest products and talk to manufacturer personnel.

“Keeping up with the latest technology is critical for today’s automotive instructors – the key people grooming the next generation of automotive technicians and other employees,” said Sue Kalish, AAIA senior director, education. “Since there is no better educational experience than AAPEX for them to learn about new products, technology, available resources and to network, the three sponsoring organizations made a special effort this year to reach out to this group and invite them to AAPEX. The organizations want to learn what the industry can do to help them and to let instructors know we appreciate all that they do.”

Sponsoring organizations include the AAIA Education Committee, the North American Automotive Teachers Council (NACAT) Education Foundation and National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).

This event is free with AAPEX registration. Attendees must register for AAPEX under the AEG (association, education, government) category with employee function EDT (education and training) at www.aapexshow.com, and notify Sue Kalish at [email protected] for confirmation.
