KANSAS CITY, Mo. The Automotive Service Association of Missouri/Kansas has announced a new scholarship program to help automotive service professionals obtain management and technical education that is vital for success in today’s industry. Two scholarships will be awarded to applicants who are attending the 2009 VISION HiTech Training & Expo for the first time. Scholarships will cover one management or technical training registration package, and up to two night’s hotel stay.
“VISION is excited to make this opportunity available so that new automotive service professionals can receive high quality management and technical training,” said Jerry Holcom, awards chairman for ASA of Missouri/Kansas.
Scholarship applications are available on the VISION website at www.visionkc.com. The deadline for applications is Jan. 10, 2009. The Awards Committee will review all applications and base their recommendations on expressed financial need, clear objective for use of the scholarship and goals for career development. The Awards Committee will announce its selections by Feb. 5, 2009.
The 17th Annual VISION Hi-Tech Training & Expo will be held on March 6-8, 2009 at the Overland Park Convention Center in Overland Park, Kan. More than 1,130 automotive service professionals from 32 states and the Netherlands received more than 10,000 hours of training during the 2008 event. The 2009 management and technical training schedule has already been released and is available on the website. Exhibit space is 70 percent sold out for the 2009 event.
