SUPERIOR, WIS — Superior, Wis.-based Amsoil Inc. announced this week it has reformulated and renamed its XL-7500 line. “XL” stands for extended life lubricants.
The new American Petroleum Institute-certified XL series of synthetic motor oils has been designed to meet the new SM/GF-4 specifications for oil viscosity. AMSOIL XL is a 100 percent synthetic motor oil available in four viscosity grades, 5W-20, 5W-30, 10W-30 and 10W-40. It can be purchased in quarts, cases and drums.
According to the company, the new line carries a 7500-mile/six-month drain interval, but also offers extended service life in vehicles equipped with oil life monitoring systems that advocate drain intervals longer than 7500 miles. The company said the new line offers friction and heat reduction, as well as superior extreme temperature performance and fuel economy. The AMSOIL XL line was developed to be more resistant to deposits than conventional oils, the company said, and protects against sludge, carbon and varnish formation that can clog oil passages and cause premature wear through lack of lubrication.
