NORCROSS, GA — Akzo Nobel has announced that the I-CAR Education Foundation has selected Roland Taube, market manager for the Car Refinishes Canadian Market, vice-chair for the 2007/2008 Board of Trustees and Executive Committee. The company also announced that Tom Moreland, director of strategic accounts, has been selected as a member of the 2007/2008 I-CAR International Executive Committee. He will hold the position of member-at-large.
Taube and Moreland are two of several industry stewards who have been tapped for leadership roles and have agreed to offer their time and energy to help the industry improve and move forward. I-CAR said, “The board of directors sets the overall strategic direction for the organization and assists in obtaining resources in support of the I-CAR mission.”
In acknowledging his appointment, Taube said, “The issue of creating and educating our current and future workforce is clearly one of our most critical industry challenges. Akzo Nobel, thru the Most Influential Women in the Collision Repair Industry Scholarship Program, has been a long-time ardent supporter of the Education Foundation. I am pleased to be able to expand this proud tradition as a representative of the world’s largest coatings company.”
