With a career spanning two decades spent almost exclusively servicing national and regional automotive service retailers, Jason Phillips was named vice president of sales for the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance.
“We are fortunate indeed to add an individual with Jason’s skills and experience to the Alliance team,” said John Washbish, president and CEO, Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance. “Strategically, the Alliance has been placing ever-increasing emphasis on addressing the needs of the expanding national and regional service retail segment. Jason’s knowledge and relationships will enable us to develop improved strategies and tactics to become a better supplier to them.”
Phillips comes to the Alliance from American Tire Distributors, where he held a variety of positions for the past eight years, most recently, director of sales – corporate accounts. In that capacity, he was the primary corporate representative for major accounts, including Wal-Mart, Sears, Pep Boys, Goodyear Retail, Firestone Retail, Monro Muffler, CarMax and others.
In his role as vice president of sales, Phillips’ primary responsibility will be to act as main corporate representative to all national and regional service retail accounts. In addition, he will oversee sales efforts to prospective new Alliance members and direct the national Certified Service Center program that the Alliance markets to independent shops.
“The Alliance position represents a tremendous opportunity for me both personally and professionally,” said Phillips. “The Alliance is an organization that stands head and shoulders above similar organizations and is poised to do great things. And, from a personal standpoint, my wife Mary and I get to come home to Texas. Nothing could be better.”
Phillips and his wife Mary have four children. He is a 1995 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and looks forward to returning home to the Lone Star state.
