Aeolus Tyres is sponsoring the Dongfeng Race Team in the 2014-’15 Volvo Ocean Race.

The Volvo Ocean Race is a nine-month offshore race that covers 11 ports in 11 countries and travels nearly 39,000 nautical miles. This year, seven teams are competing for the trophy. With two legs complete, the Dongfeng team is in a three-way tie for first place.

“With its global appeal, the Volvo Ocean Race is the perfect opportunity to connect with our customers around the world,” said Mike Leverington, general manager in the U.S. for Aeolus.

Aeolus will host several U.S. clients during the team’s North America stop in Newport, R.I., on May 5, 2015, the tiremaker said.
