ROANOKE, Va. Advance Auto Parts has announced the appointments of Jamie Akemann as vice president, merchandising, sales floor and Jon Dehne as vice president, merchandising process development.
Akemann will be responsible for leading the effort to drive innovation and growth for Advance’s sales floor business in order to better meet the needs of customers. Dehne will be responsible for leading the merchandising business process transformation and will oversee the implementation of a new category management program, retail pricing strategies, space optimization of the sales floor and implementation of a new merchandising system. Akemann and Dehne will both report to Charles Tyson, senior vice president, merchandising.
“I am very excited to have both Jamie and Jon joining the Advance Team,” said Tyson. “Jamie and Jon both bring a significant amount of merchandising and inventory experience from several national retailers and their leadership and experience will be a huge asset to us.”
Akemann most recently served as director, merchandise planning with Home Depot, and has served in various other positions during his time with the company, including senior director of sourcing and vendor management and product merchant. Prior to Home Depot, Akemann spent nine years with Office Depot in various merchandising positions including director of continuous improvement. Akemann holds a bachelor of arts from Lynn University located in Boca Raton, Fla.
Prior to joining Advance, Dehne served as vice president, enterprise transformation with Best Buy, and has served in various other positions with the company including senior process director, and process director for merchandise and space planning. Prior to Best Buy, Dehne spent eight years with Nash Finch Co., a publicly traded wholesale food distributor in the U.S., where he held various positions including manager, space management. Dehne holds a masters of business administration from the University of St. Thomas located in St. Paul, Minn., and holds a bachelor of science in business management from St. Cloud State University located in St. Cloud, Minn.
Both Akemann and Dehne will be based in Minneapolis.
