Advance Auto Parts Makes Several New VP Appointments

Advance Auto Parts has appointed Kevin Wiederhold as vice president, human resources. Advance has also announced the appointments of Rick Maynard as regional vice president, supply chain and Joyce Maruniak as vice president, supply chain development.

ROANOKE, Va. – Advance Auto Parts has appointed Kevin Wiederhold as vice president, human resources. Wiederhold joins Advance from Home Depot, where he’s worked since 2002 in multiple positions with increasing responsibility including regional human resources director, compensation manager and staffing operations manager. Prior to Home Depot, he worked for Gateway Computers, where he also held multiple positions including senior operations manager and human resources manager.

In his new role, Wiederhold will be responsible for field human resources initiatives that will help Advance recruit and grow its field team. Wiederhold will report to Ken Wirth, senior vice president, customer experience officer and Mike Marolt, senior vice president, customer operations excellence officer.

“Kevin’s extensive human resources background and experience will be a tremendous asset to Advance as we focus on developing the strongest team in our industry,” said Darren Jackson, president and chief executive officer. “We look forward to his leadership to implement and drive our field-focused human resources programs.”

Wiederhold holds a master of public administration in human resources management and a bachelor of arts in sociology/criminal justice from the University of South Dakota. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1987 to 2004. He will be based in Minneapolis.

Advance has also announced the appointments of Rick Maynard as regional vice president, supply chain and Joyce Maruniak as vice president, supply chain development. Maynard will be responsible for a designated group of distribution centers and will be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate and low cost delivery/replenishment to Advance stores. Maruniak will be responsible for developing and maintaining programs and initiatives to increase the efficiency of Advance’s supply chain organization. Maynard and Maruniak will both report to Chas Scheiderer, senior vice president, supply chain.

“I am very excited to have both Rick and Joyce joining the Advance Team,” said Kevin Freeland, executive vice president, Merchandising, supply chain and IT. “Rick and Joyce both bring a significant amount of logistics support from several national retailers and their leadership and experience will be a huge asset to us.”

Prior to joining Advance, Maynard most recently served as director of supply chain with Home Depot Direct. He was previously with Best Buy, where he held multiple positions with increasing responsibilities during his tenure. Maynard has a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from High Point University in North Carolina. He will reside in the Roanoke area.

Maruniak most recently served as senior vice president of operations for The Sharper Image Co. She was previously employed by Best Buy as vice president, supply chain solutions. Maruniak holds a masters of business administration from the University of Delaware and a bachelor’s of science degree in chemical engineering from Cleveland State University. She will be based in Minneapolis.
