Activant, General Parts, Inc. Announce New eCatalog Agreement

Activant Solutions Inc. and General Parts, Inc. (GPI) have announced a new agreement through which GPI’s distribution centers, stores and customers will use the Activant PartExpert and Cover-to-Cover electronic parts catalogs.

AUSTIN, TX — Activant Solutions Inc. and General Parts, Inc. (GPI) have announced a new agreement through which GPI’s distribution centers, stores and customers will use the Activant PartExpert and Cover-to-Cover electronic parts catalogs.

The largest member of the CARQUEST network, GPI distributes replacement parts, supplies and tools to approximately 3,000 CARQUEST and other auto parts stores located throughout North America. The company is based in Raleigh, NC.

“Securing reliable catalog services for our store operations and their customers is a major part of our growth strategy,” said O. Temple Sloan III, president and chief executive officer of GPI. “Activant stepped up to meet our expanding needs in electronic cataloging.”

“We are extremely pleased that GPI shares our vision to empower parts professionals with the aftermarket’s most productive and up-to-date electronic catalog,” said Pervez Qureshi, Activant’s chief operating officer. “This agreement represents a tremendous opportunity to demonstrate the value of Activant’s catalog capabilities on behalf of one of the industry’s premier distribution organizations.”

Activant’s suite of electronic catalogs – including PartExpert and the new Cover-to-Cover expanded content resource – are used at approximately 27,000 business locations. PartExpert provides data on nearly 4.2 million parts from 1,578 aftermarket manufacturers.
