The Automotive Content Professionals Network (ACPN), a community of the Auto Care Association, recently announced the winner of its annual ACPN scholarship. The ACPN scholarship awards one deserving individual, who has the passion and determination to pursue professional and personal growth, the opportunity to attend the 2021 ACPN Knowledge Exchange Conference.

The ACPN committee is pleased to award Stacie Vargas, of Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, Inc., as the 2021 ACPN scholarship winner.

The scholarship covers the registration and hotel costs to attend the 2021 ACPN Knowledge Exchange conference and provides access to mentoring and networking opportunities. The ACPN scholarship winner also receives a tailored conference journey that will provide insight into what the aftermarket ecosystem is, who the players are, what the Auto Care Association does and how they fit together.

The ACPN Knowledge Exchange Conference, set to take place May 2-5 in Orlando, Florida, during the inaugural Auto Care Connect event, is the largest gathering of content professionals and service providers in the aftermarket. The mission of ACPN is to educate, inspire and connect industry professionals who specialize in the management of automotive product related content.

Bill Hanvey, Auto Care Association president and CEO, reacted to the USTR four-year review of Section 301 China tariffs.

“We commend the Biden Administration and the USTR for their thorough review of the Section 301 China tariffs that were implemented in 2018 as a way to address China’s unfair trade practices,” said Hanvey. “We applaud our members’ efforts in reducing their reliance on sourcing from China and investing in resilient U.S. supply chains. However, we want to reiterate that tariffs continue to negatively impact our members and the automotive aftermarket industry. Many products lack manufacturing alternatives outside of China due to infrastructure issues, significant investments in tooling and the knowledge to produce a high-quality safety product.
