AASA Know Your Parts Exhibit at AAPEX to Demonstrate the Importance of Quality Aftermarket Parts

The AASA Know Your Parts exhibit for AAPEX 2010 has been organized by Jack Cameron, AASA vice president, and AASA Marketing Executive Council (MEC) members. It will visually depict the difference between low-cost, low-quality aftermarket parts and parts from full-service aftermarket suppliers.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Know Your Parts, the industry awareness campaign spearheaded by the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), will demonstrate at its exhibit at AAPEX the differences between low-quality parts and brand name parts backed by full-service aftermarket suppliers.

AAPEX takes place Nov. 2-4 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. The AASA Know Your Parts exhibit will be in Sands booth No. 3800, just inside the upper level main hall entrance.

“Determining a part’s quality can be difficult. Generic, low-quality parts may appear identical to quality parts – but it’s impossible to see the poor quality inside,” said Steve Handschuh, president and COO of AASA. “These parts pose a potential threat to the safety of the motoring public and repair professionals. That is why we have dedicated our Know Your Parts display at AAPEX to demonstrating the differences in aftermarket components and educating aftermarket professionals who are participating in the annual event.”

At AAPEX 2010, the AASA Know Your Parts campaign also will introduce other tools to assist in spreading the word about the importance of quality aftermarket parts and products, Handschuh said.

“AASA will host its annual ‘Media and Member Luncheon’ on Monday, Nov. 1, to discuss our new Know Your Parts tools and to make major announcements concerning the campaign and other AASA initiatives,” he added.
