Barrett-Jackson Cements Itself as an Altruistic Powerhouse

The motor vehicle auction house will help more than 20 local and national charities raise money for worthy causes during its auction, Jan. 15-22, at WestWorld of Scottsdale, Ariz.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – For 41 years, Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction has served as one of the automotive industry’s charitable-giving powerhouses, raising more than $40 million for worthy causes at the "World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions." Of that total, $35 million has been raised just within the past five years.

This year is no exception, according to Barrett-Jackson. The motor vehicle auction house will help more than 20 local and national charities raise money for worthy causes during its auction, Jan. 15-22, at WestWorld of Scottsdale, Ariz. Top collectible cars, as well as a motorcycle and a tractor for charity, will cross the block at No Reserve during the automotive lifestyle event.

“Our executives, consignors and bidders brought altruism to a whole new level in 2011,” said Craig Jackson, Barrett-Jackson’s chairman and CEO, noting that the organization helped raise nearly $6 million dollars in 2011.  “Philanthropy is a major component of the Barrett-Jackson culture, and due to the tremendous generosity of our customers, participants and attendees, we look forward to watching this figure grow for years to come.”

“Each of these organizations needs our support,” added Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “We’ve made it our goal to raise as much money for both local and national foundations as possible. We know bidders will be just as excited about taking home one of these vehicles as we are about selling them. Let’s start the New Year off right and see how much money we can raise for these deserving charities.”

Charities involving children, military personnel, medical research and community support are taking center stage in Scottsdale. For more information on the cars and the charities benefitting from their sale, visit http://www.barrett-jackson.com.
