Epicor Readying Cloud-Based Version of AConneX Connectivity Solution

New solution to open network to thousands of additional users while enhancing system performance, company says.

LAS VEGAS – Epicor Software Corp. has announced plans to launch a cloud-based version of its AConneX Internet-based auto parts trading solution. The new solution, Epicor AConneX CL, will facilitate adoption by thousands of additional aftermarket businesses while significantly enhancing network reliability and performance, according to the company.

AConneX is one of the aftermarket’s largest and most popular connectivity and parts buying and selling solutions, according to Epicor, and has surpassed 65,000 online buyers and sellers. The product now averages more than 4.5 million parts orders per month, representing in excess of $1 billion in annual sales. The number of AConneX transactions has increased nearly 35 percent over 2010, according to Paul Salsgiver, executive vice president and general manager, retail software for Epicor.

“There clearly is a preference among distributors, parts store owners, industry suppliers and installers to leverage the extensive reach and operational efficiencies of a proven, secure online solution,” Salsgiver said. “AConneX CL is an important next step that we are confident will further accelerate the industry’s adoption of Internet-based parts trading and a broad range of other eCommerce services.”

The new solution will enable businesses to join the AConneX network without making major changes to their existing system architecture, according to Epicor. In addition, the direct connectivity and decentralized services associated with cloud-based solutions will help minimize network downtime and other performance and reliability issues for customers, the company says.

AConneX CL is expected to go live for select Epicor business platforms and users by the end of 2011 and will continue the company’s strong commitment to aftermarket industry data standards, according to Salsgiver.
