NTEA Executive Director Inducted into MSAE Hall of Fame

Jim Carney joined the NTEA staff more than 35 years ago. As the organization's executive director for the past 34 years, he oversees the day-to-day activities of the association and is responsible for the organization's staff, planning, budget and policymaking. Under his tenure, the organization has grown from 700 to nearly 1,600 member companies and the association has seen a dramatic increase in annual operating revenue from $250,000 to almost $7 million.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — Jim Carney, CAE, executive director of NTEA, the Association for the Work Truck Industry, has been inducted into the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) Hall of Fame.

The MSAE held its 10th Annual Diamond Awards Banquet on Sept. 21 at The Baronette Renaissance Hotel in Novi, Mich. Nearly 250 members and guests attended the event held to recognize excellence and innovation in associations. Carney was one of three respected association leaders to be inducted into the Michigan Association Hall of Fame.

This recognition honors those individuals who have excelled in the association management profession and have contributed to other social or civic organizations or causes throughout their careers.

“Jim is a true inspiration to many in the work truck industry,” said NTEA Deputy Executive Director Steve Carey. “His longevity as an association CEO and years of hard work, dedication and loyalty to the NTEA and the association industry clearly demonstrate that he is a true leader deserving of the Michigan Association Hall of Fame recognition.”
