Philips Introduces Two New DayLight Car Lighting Solutions

New products offer motorists maximum visibility and premium design, according to the company.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — Philips has introduced two new versions of its Daytime Running Light (DRL) – LED DayLight 4 and 8.

People today are spending more time on the road and therefore safety, style and energy efficiency are becoming key concerns, according to Philips.

Philips offers DRL solutions for cars already on the road, enabling drivers with immediate safety benefits. Philips DayLight modules automatically switch on when the engine starts, substantially increasing the visibility of the car to other road users and pedestrians, according to the company. Philips adds the DRLs also have a low energy consumption compared to existing halogen headlamps.

LED DayLight 4 ensures high visibility for safer daytime driving, while the LED DayLight 8 offers motorists maximum visibility and premium design, the company says. Both are equipped with Philips LUXEON LEDs. Moreover, Philips says, these energy-efficient solutions are the slimmest DRL modules on the market and are easy to install.
