CCAR Announces Election of 2011-12 Board of Directors, Officers

The Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair has announced the nine individuals elected to serve on the organization's board and as board officers for 2011.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair (CCAR) has announced the members of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee (Officers) for 2011-12.
    
Members of the CCAR Board are:

·    Mark Algie, 3M Corp., St. Paul, Minn.
·    Charlie Ayers, Midas International Corp., Itasca, Ill.
·    Guy Bargnes, Painters Supply & Equipment Co., Taylor, Mich.
·    Brandon Devis, Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes, Warrensville Heights, Ohio
·    Randy Hanson, Allstate Insurance Co., Northbrook, Ill.
·    Bob Keith, CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts, Overland Park, Kan.
·    Bill Mayer, Insurance Auto Auctions Inc., Gaithersburg, Md.
·    John Nohe, JNA Advertising, Overland Park, Kan.
·    Mark Saxonberg, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., Torrance, Calif.

"I am very excited to work with such high-caliber people on our current board,” said Charlie Ayers, franchise business manager for Midas, who was re-elected CCAR chairman. “We now have representation from several key areas of the automotive industry, including those from the OEMs, collision, insurance and undercar service sectors."
    
Others elected to the Executive Committee are Bill Mayer, vice chairman; Mark Saxonberg, secretary; and John Nohe, treasurer. Daren Fristoe, CCAR’s president and chief operating officer, serves as a non-voting member of the board.
    
"The depth and breadth of experience that the CCAR Board of Directors brings to our organization cannot be overstated,” said Fristoe. “We appreciate their time, commitment and support and look forward to their ongoing involvement with CCAR."
    
CCAR is a national 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, established in 1994. Its mission is to work with the industry around the world, with career and technical schools, and with governments and other organizations to provide best practice information and training, and to measure improvements related to:
·    Pollution Prevention (P2).
·    Safety for all who repair or maintain vehicles as a profession, as well as those who work in related businesses.
·    Reduction of lost workdays due to accidents or job-related health issues.
·    Decreases in costs and liability exposure.
·    Reduction in costs of training in these areas.
    
CCAR operates “CCAR-GreenLink,” the National Environmental Compliance Assistance Center for Automotive Repair, in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
    
CCAR’s educational offerings feature the “S/P2” e-learning program in Safety and Pollution Prevention for the auto repair industry, and the “HazmatU” e-learning program in hazardous materials shipping.
    
In addition, CCAR sponsors the “GreenLink Shop” recognition program to promote high standards of excellence in environmental, health and safety (EHS) practices by auto repair facilities.
