Gary Pointon Joins Superior Automotive as President

As president of Superior Automotive, Pointon will work closely with Garry Paffrath, the company's vice president of business development, to help expand the company's customer base and product offerings.

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. – Don Youngblood, president and CEO of DYK Automotive LLC, has announced that Gary Pointon has been named president of the holding company’s Superior Automotive division, effective Jan. 3.

As president of Superior Automotive, Pointon will work closely with Garry Paffrath, the company’s vice president of business development, to help expand the company’s customer base and product offerings.

“Superior Automotive manufactures and distributes leading branded automotive accessory products to warehouse distributors and major automotive specialty retailers," said Pointon. "I used to compete against Superior, so I’m very familiar with them as a market leader in accessories. I’m glad to now be a part of their team and look forward to working with Don and Garry to help bolster Superior as a category leader in the automotive aftermarket."

Based in West Memphis, Ark., Superior Automotive has an extensive branded accessory line that includes: RideEFFEX suspension accessories and components, EdgeEFFEX and SUPERIOR exterior dress-up accessories, SuperGear and SuperGear SS exhaust accessories, SuperNuts wheel accessories, SportGrip interior dress-up accessories and SAFE-T assorted safety accessories.

Prior to joining Superior Automotive, Pointon spent five years as a sales and marketing consultant to Pilot Recreation and Firelounge Outdoors. Pointon was a founding partner in Quest Industries, a U.S.-based manufacturer of automotive accessories. He served as executive vice president for Quest Industries from 1993 to 2004. During his career in the automotive aftermarket, Pointon was vice president of special markets for Winner International, national sales manager for Rally Manufacturing and regional sales manager for Cal Custom/Hollywood Accessories.

DYK Automotive LLC is the holding company for three automotive aftermarket companies, Atlantic Pacific Automotive (AP Auto), Superior Automotive and Keltner Distribution, each of which operates independently as a wholly owned subsidiary of DYK.
