RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – The Fuel Pump Manufacturers Council (FPMC) of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) has elected its new officers for 2010.

The council recently recognized Outgoing FPMC Chairman Tom Thompson, product manager fuel management Delphi Product & Service Solutions, for his service to the group from mid-2008 through the end of 2009. Under Thompson’s leadership, the FPMC expanded its efforts to educate the professional repair community about the proper diagnostic and repair procedures for fuel systems and fuel pumps.

“Tommy Thompson did a superb job in getting the FMPC and our members focused on achieving real goals that are now helping us communicate with the repair world,” Gonzales said. “Under his leadership, we increased membership and expanded the FPMC Web site’s content. Also, we are working on a simple-to-use diagnostic flow chart, training videos that will be accessible through the Council’s Web site and other educational projects.”

Fuel Pump Manufacturers Council (www.fuelpumpinfo.org) is a product council of AASA. The council’s purpose is to reduce fuel pump warranty returns through education. FPMC member companies include Airtex Products, Continental, Delphi, Denso, Federal Mogul, Robert Bosch, Spectra Premium and TI Automotive.
