Bill Cropper Named 2009 CABA Person of the Year

The Person of the Year honor is bestowed upon an individual who makes a significant personal contribution of time and effort for the betterment of the association. Cropper first volunteered for service to the association when he joined the board of directors in 1977.

PASADENA, Md. — Bill Cropper, president of Salisbury Automotive NAPA and the 2009-2010 volunteer president of the Chesapeake Automotive Business Association (CABA), was honored with the 2009 CABA Person of the Year award at the association’s annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner, held Nov. 14 in Annapolis, Md.

The Person of the Year honor is bestowed upon an individual who makes a significant personal contribution of time and effort for the betterment of the association. Cropper first volunteered for service to the association when he joined the board of directors in 1977.

"Twenty-two years and still counting is one of the most significant contributions of service I have ever seen," remarked Skip Potter, CABA’s executive director in his comments during the award presentation.

"This is a real surprise and I am incredibly honored to be recognized with this award," said Cropper. "I am proud of my involvement with CABA but, for me, it has always been more than just the association. It’s our industry I am working for," he continued. "I wish more of our small aftermarket companies would recognize how important it is for them to join CABA and to support the industry that supports them."

The Chesapeake Automotive Business Association is a 501(c)6 not-for-profit membership trade association for automotive aftermarket businesses in Maryland, D.C. and Delaware, dedicated to the development of locally owned auto repair and tire service centers, their jobbers and the aftermarket professionals who supply them.
