‘The Car Coach,’ Lauren Fix, Inducted Into the National Transportation Women’s Hall of Fame

The renowned automotive analyst, car care expert and author is one of the first inductees during inaugural ceremony. The National Transportation Women's Hall of Fame inaugural inductee ceremony also honored five other inductees, including a posthumous award for Alice Ramsey, the first woman to drive from New York to San Francisco in 1909.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Lauren Fix, the automotive media personality known as "The Car Coach," was recently named one of the very first inductees into the National Transportation Women’s Hall of Fame. Fix was installed into the Hall of Fame at the Buffalo Transportation/Pierce Arrow Museum on Oct. 23.

“Lauren is a very unique woman in that she has attained a status in the automotive industry that rivals or surpasses many of her male colleagues,” said James Sandoro, Buffalo Transportation/Pierce-Arrow Museum executive director. “This is substantiated by her numerous national television news appearances where she frequently contributes and provides her expertise to the men and women of the world. We are lucky to have her as one of our first inductees.”

The National Transportation Women’s Hall of Fame inaugural inductee ceremony also honored five other inductees, including a posthumous award for Alice Ramsey, the first woman to drive from New York to San Francisco in 1909. An auction of unique automobilia and other items also took place, benefiting the National Transportation Women’s Hall of Fame, building of the Frank Lloyd Wright Filling Station & Museum expansion.

“I am thrilled that they chose me as one of the first inductees,” said Fix. “This is such an honor and I am proud to be a part of it. I can only hope that I continue to live up to the standards set by The National Transportation Women’s Hall of Fame and that my automotive advice continues to help people.”
