AMN SURVEY RESULTS: Brand Trumps Country of Origin

Only 27.5 percent view country of origin as more important than brand.

In an effort to bring more awareness to the quality and service provided by brands made by full-service North American suppliers as opposed to lower quality product produced by low-cost countries, the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association recently launched a new initiative called “Know Your Parts.” Last week’s AMN poll asked the question, When it comes to buying auto parts, which matters more to you — brand or country of origin? The majority of AMN readers seem to support AASA’s cause, with 72.5 percent voting that brand matters more, with only 27.5 percent viewing country of origin as more important.

THIS WEEK’S POLL

Late last week, the U.S. Labor Department released the latest job figures for the country, which showed that the unemployment rate rose nationally to 9.8 percent. While U.S. businesses continue to hold off on hiring, analysts still speculate that the economy is beginning to recover from the economic recession. For this week’s AMN Survey, we want to know: What do you make of the latest jobs report?
