Advance Auto Parts Names Scott Bauhofer Senior Vice President and General Manager, E-Commerce

Bauhofer's responsibilities include the development and operation of the company's e-commerce sites for both DIY and Commercial customers.

ROANOKE, Va. – Advance Auto Parts today announced the appointment of Scott Bauhofer as senior vice president and general manager, e-commerce. Bauhofer’s responsibilities include the development and operation of the company’s e-commerce sites for both DIY and Commercial customers. He will be responsible for creative, content, operations, customer care, web analytics, paid search, search engine optimization and affiliate marketing for the websites.

Bauhofer will report to Kevin Freeland, chief operating officer, and will be based in a Northern California city within Silicon Valley, which will allow him to recruit an e-commerce team from the talent that is available from the Silicon Valley.

“Scott will be a tremendous asset to our team,” said Freeland. “Scott’s experience over the last 10 years in e-commerce with top companies will be invaluable in the development of our Commercial and Retail websites.”

Prior to joining Advance, Bauhofer most recently served as vice president, consumer sales strategy for Symantec Corp., where he was responsible for developing sales strategies for the Norton product line. Prior to that, Bauhofer served as senior vice president – direct sales, warranty services for West Marine, where he was responsible for the direct sales business unit – web, call center, catalog and online marketing. Prior to his position at West Marine, he served as senior vice president – direct consumer and small business segments, “Box and Beyond,” for Gateway Computers. Prior to that, he held various positions at Best Buy, last serving as senior vice president and general manager of its Online Stores at BestBuy.com.  Bauhofer has a bachelor of arts degree in history from San Francisco State University in San Francisco, Calif.
