ACDelco Restructures Field Organization

Company says restructuring streamlines and increases responsiveness.

GRAND BLANC, Mich. — In an effort to become more responsive to the market, ACDelco has streamlined its Field Organization, adding more field sales personnel within each market area. The company said it also strengthened its commitment to field sales training and has made personnel moves to fill each of the six expanded Regional Manager Aftermarket positions. The restructurings were effective Jan. 1.

"We have reduced the layers of middle management and added more people to the field, which gets upper management closer to the customer, promotes better communication and faster and better decision making," said Brent Snelson, U.S. Director, Independent Aftermarket. "We’ve also made some personnel changes and expanded the Regional Manager role which has created an outstanding team with more than 180 years collective ACDelco experience."

The following personnel have been named to the newly expanded regional manager aftermarket position focusing on growing ACDelco market share in the independent aftermarket:

Marlyn Bridges, Regional Manager Aftermarket, Western Region – Bridges has more than 30 years experience with ACDelco and experience in field sales, marketing and advertising in both the North Central and Western regions, in addition to SPO headquarters, where he was national marketing director for GM Parts.
 
John Berg, Regional Manager Aftermarket, South Central Region – Berg is a 25 year veteran recently accepting the regional aftermarket sales manager’s position after managing three zones previously in the Western and South Central Regions and an eight-year assignment in the Middle East as the regional manager GM Parts and ACDelco.
 
Jim Obremski, Regional Manager Aftermarket, Southeast Region – Obremski has been with ACDelco for 35 years and has served in all sales regions with ever increasing responsibilities. He has more than 27 years experience in the field specifically. Most recently, Obremski worked in Central Office as the ACDelco product portfolio director, where he managed the entire ACD product offering.
 
Chris Maciag, Regional Manager Aftermarket, Northeast Region – Maciag began his GM career in 1978 as a mechanical engineer. He moved to ACDelco 10 years later, where he held numerous positions that included regional service manager and national training manager. Maciag also held several headquarters sales assignments that included national fleet sales manager, manager of programmed distribution and national distribution development manager. He has spent the last six years as the ACDelco zone sales manager in the Southeast Region.

Harold Meyer, Regional Manager Aftermarket, North Central Region – Meyer is a field sales veteran, with more than 33 years field experience in the Southeast and North Central regions. He becomes the regional manager aftermarket after working as zone sales manager for the west side of the North Central Region the past six years, during his 11 years as an ACDelco zone sales manager.
 
Dave Dunton, Regional Manager Aftermarket, Specialized Distribution – This is a newly created position to align with the Specialized Distribution Group. Dunton has been with ACDelco for more than 31 years in various field, regional and central office positions. In his most recent assignment as manager, sales administration, Dunton acted as the liaison between field sales, their customers and central office focusing on developing and implementing strategies for mutual business growth.
