ROANOKE, Va. – Advance Auto Parts has announced the appointment of Kevin Dempsey as vice president, Global Sourcing. Dempsey’s responsibilities include developing the company’s global sourcing capability and private brand strategy. Dempsey will report to Charles Tyson, senior vice president, Merchandising.

Prior to joining Advance, Dempsey most recently served as senior vice president with Test Rite International Co., a diversified trading company, where he was responsible for agency business development. Prior to that, he served in various vice president roles at Staples in the areas of Canadian business delivery, merchandising, e-commerce and import buying and product development. Dempsey also has held various roles in merchandising and import buying and product development for Beaver Lumber Co. in Toronto, Canada prior to joining Staples.

Dempsey earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario.

He will be based in Roanoke, Va.
