Bosch Launches Performance Fuel Injector Program; Includes Coverage for Current and Older Vehicles

The modern, high-flow gasoline injectors are based on Bosch's newest generation of its multi-port injectors, EV14, and are designed to provide improved fuel flow, performance and power.

BROADVIEW, IL — Bosch has launched a new line of performance fuel injectors for engine builders and enthusiasts. The modern, high-flow gasoline injectors are based on Bosch’s newest generation of its multi-port injectors, EV14, and are designed to provide improved fuel flow, performance and power.

"Bosch performance fuel injectors provide a greater fuel dynamic flow range and refined spray pattern for improved fuel atomization and mixture combustion, making these injectors perfect for extracting maximum power from a performance engine. They are ‘over molded’ to form a one-piece injector with no internal seals or seams to leak. With fewer parts, the injector is lighter, more compact and easier to install, and strong and durable. The molded plastic shell eliminates exposed metal parts, preventing corrosion," said Norihisa Akamatsu, group product manager for Bosch.

"With a great dynamic flow range, these injectors will provide the optimum performance engine builders seek, and 10 Bosch part numbers will be available in various flow and pressure characteristics to accommodate many different domestic and import applications," Akamatsu added.

Bosch introduced electronic fuel injection with the VW Type 3 Fastback 1600 in 1967. The first electronic fuel injection system utilized multi-port fuel injectors (EV1), Bosch introduced the second-generation (EV6) injectors in 1992, and the newest generation (EV14) injectors were introduced in 2001. The EV14 injectors have been installed as OE on domestic, European and Asian vehicles since then.
