Cooper Plants Get ISO 9001:2000 Certification

The four plants – including facilities in Findlay, Ohio, and Texarkana, Ark. – are currently under review by Cooper, which is considering capacity adjustments, including possible closure of one of the facilities.

Cooper Tire & Rubber’s four U.S. tire-manufacturing facilities have each earned ISO 9001:2000 quality management system certification. In addition, IS0 14001 environmental management system certifications were earned by Cooper’s Albany, Ga., and Tupelo, Miss., plants.

“Attaining these formal certifications illustrates Cooper’s ongoing commitment to quality and our dedication to continuous improvement,” said Cooper chairman, President and CEO Roy Armes. “Cooper people have long worked at levels meeting or exceeding these standards, but it’s encouraging to have impartial third-party auditors recognize that fact.”
