Hytec Automotive Opens New Water Pump Manufacturing Plant in China

Hytec's new facility is TS-16949 NQA-certified and has the capacity to produce the largest amount of automotive water pumps on the Asian continent.

TAMPA, Fla. and COLUMBUS, Ohio – Hytec Automotive has opened a new state-of-the-art 70,000-square-foot water pump manufacturing plant in Jiangsu Province, Dafeng City, China.

The joint venture business is called Jiangsu Chantey Hytec Automotive Pumps LLC. The facility is TS-16949 NQA-certified and has the capacity to produce the largest amount of automotive water pumps on the Asian continent, the company said.

Engineering, die casting, machining, assembly and packaging are the primary operations of the manufacturing plant, which specializes in producing automotive, heavy duty, industrial and marine water pumps. Excluding seals and bearings, all critical components required to produce new water pumps are manufactured at the facility.

“Dedication to excellence and rapid growth are shaping a prosperous future for Hytec Automotive on both a global manufacturing and distribution scale,” said Denis Bruncak, chairman and CEO, Hytec Automotive USA. "The China plant’s unique transportation advantages and convenience to the international marketplace position Hytec Automotive to lead the world’s automotive aftermarket industry.

“Through global market exposure Hytec Automotive is pursuing new possibilities and new relationships," Bruncak added. "We can support our growth with solid service, manufacturing and distribution practices and look forward to doing business with new customers all around the world.”

The growth Hytec has experienced over the past three years creates a promising forecast for Hytec Automotive, Bruncak believes.

“The automotive aftermarket has not reached China yet,” Bruncak said. “With the emergence of free trade the Chinese population is increasing personal wealth. Everybody is buying cars in China and Hytec Automotive intends to be a major player in China’s automotive aftermarket. General Motors is the number one selling car company in Asia right now. Harnessing the opportunity to sell automotive parts to other countries and to ship directly from our manufacturing facility is an exciting and natural next step.”

According to Gao Jun, chairman of the board, Yancheng Chantey Hytec Automotive Pumps, quality is paramount to the company. “We utilize the strict TS-16949 NQA-certified manufacturing processes maintained by U.S. engineers to produce consistent, high quality water pumps meeting OES and OEM specifications,” said Jun. “We believe quality is of the greatest importance for our valued customers as we strive to achieve our goal of zero defects.”

“The new China manufacturing plant enables us to produce the highest quality water pump at the lowest cost and allows us to compete globally,” added Hytec Automotive USA President Tim Zahler. “Doing business in China makes practical business sense on many levels. Detroit is mandating that car companies purchase products from what are referred to as ‘low cost countries’ (LCC). China is an accepted and approved LCC to purchase parts for every car manufacturer around the globe. Working with the Chinese people is both enriching and rewarding and we respect their culture and traditions in every way.”
