Bill Grote Names Eric Morris President and COO of Grote Industries, Grote to Assume Chairman/CEO Role

Eric Morris has been appointed to the newly created post of president and COO at Grote Industries. William (Bill) Grote III will assume duties of chairman and CEO at the 103-year-old family owned company. Grote Industries is a designer and manufacturer of vehicle safety systems. Headquartered in Madison, Ind., Grote manufactures LED and incandescent lamps, mirrors, obstacle detection systems, reflective accessories and wiring components. The company has other manufacturing plants in Toronto and Waterloo, Canada, as well as Monterrey, Mexico.

MADISON, IN — Eric Morris has been appointed to the newly created post of president and COO at Grote Industries. William (Bill) Grote III will assume duties of chairman and CEO at the 103-year-old family owned company.

Grote Industries is a designer and manufacturer of vehicle safety systems. Headquartered in Madison, Ind., Grote manufactures LED and incandescent lamps, mirrors, obstacle detection systems, reflective accessories and wiring components. The company has other manufacturing plants in Toronto and Waterloo, Canada, as well as Monterrey, Mexico.

“Succession planning is one of the most important strategic issues facing family businesses today,” said Bill Grote in announcing the appointment. “We here at Grote Industries are no different. I am indeed fortunate to have the wealth of talent available for leadership roles and individuals who are willing to accept the responsibilities and challenges facing us.”

Morris is a 27-year veteran with Grote, having started his career at the company, serving as president of Grote Canada. He has been executive vice president and head of corporate sales and marketing for the last three years.

“A strong and innovative leader is needed to address the challenges and to embrace the opportunities facing the expanding markets and the company,” continued Grote. “Eric is well prepared for this role. Since 1977, Eric and his team have done a remarkable job in some of the toughest environments ever faced by the company.”

In his new role as Chairman and CEO, Bill Grote said he will focus on the long-term expansion and future direction of the company.

The current sales and marketing management lineup will remain in place. Dominic Grote will continue as director, OE sales. John Grote will continue as director, aftermarket sales and Charlie Kasper as vice president, customer relations, while Michael Grote will remain national fleet manager. Brad Morris continues as general manager of Grote Canada.

“By working closely with Eric and his staff, our goal will be to make Grote the first choice for commercial vehicle manufacturers anywhere in the world while maintaining the financial stability that has fueled our ability to grow successfully,” said Grote.
