LAKE FOREST, IL — Tenneco Automotive has unveiled a new line of DuPont Teflon car care products. The new line is being manufactured and marketed by Tenneco Automotive through a strategic product alliance with DuPont.

Available immediately through more than 10,000 North American automotive parts retailers, the new car care product line includes DuPont Teflon Car Wash, DuPont Teflon Car Wax, DuPont Teflon Protectant Liquid Spray and Wipes, DuPont Teflon Wheel Cleaner, DuPont Teflon Spray Wax and DuPont Teflon Tire Shine.

According to Michael Kullman, director of DuPont corporate marketing, DuPont Teflon car care products carry one of the world’s strongest consumer brands while delivering what consumers are looking for in car care products — a clean and shine that really lasts, combined with non-stick protection for their car finishes.

“Consumers already know and trust DuPont Teflon; our scientists have done an exceptional job in blending the exclusive benefits of Teflon finish protectors with new and innovative car care formulas,” said Kullman. “Each of these products addresses important unmet needs among vehicle owners who want to achieve enhanced finish protection with a clean and shine that really last.”

DuPont Teflon finish protectors form an invisible, non-stick barrier to road grime, dirt, mud and other environmental pollutants and are highly resistant to water spotting, repeated washings and UV-induced fading, according to the company. These benefits represent crucial competitive advantages in what is a highly fragmented product category, according to Richard Alameddine, vice president of marketing for Tenneco Automotive.

“Research shows an overwhelming preference among automotive do-it-yourselfers for car care products that deliver premium performance,” Alameddine said. “Consumers understand and value the benefits they experience with Teflon finish protectors in other consumer product categories. We’re very confident they will respond favorably to many of these same advantages in the appearance chemical marketplace.”
