On June 1, Ann Wilson, formerly of the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) in Washington, D.C., will join the staff at the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA). Previously, Wilson served as the vice president of government affairs at RMA. She will serve in the same role with MEMA.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — On June 1, Ann Wilson, formerly of the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) in Washington, D.C., will join the staff at the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA).

Previously, Wilson served as the vice president of government affairs at RMA. She will serve in the same role with MEMA.

In her new position at MEMA, Wilson will work with the association’s Washington, D.C., office staff in overseeing federal and state legislative and regulatory monitoring, reporting and advocacy. She will work to develop and promote association members’ views on legislation and regulations affecting the motor vehicle supplier industry.

She also will coordinate the Government Affairs Committee, which consists of government affairs professionals and other executives from MEMA’s three market segment associations. The committee guides staff in establishing specific legislative, regulatory and public affairs communications goals on behalf of all MEMA members and developing plans to achieve them.

“We are pleased to have Ann join our staff in this multi-faceted position,” said Chris Bates, president and CEO of MEMA. “Her successful experience representing tire and rubber product manufacturers before federal and state government agencies and the U.S. Congress makes her ideally suited to guide the expansion of our government relations activities,” he said.

In her previous position with RMA, Wilson worked closely with the association’s board and committees to create, manage and implement policy directives. Her areas of expertise included transportation, tire safety regulations, state and federal taxes, international trade and international harmonization.

“Clearly, RMA is sorry to see Ann Wilson leave. She has been a solid contributor to this industry in meeting key policy challenges,” Donald B. Shea, RMA president and CEO. “MEMA will benefit from her professionalism and I wish her well in her new assignment,” he said.

Prior to joining RMA in 1998, Wilson was the vice president of government affairs for the American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA), based in Alexandria, Va. She served as state legislative council for the American Trucking Associations from 1989 to 1991, when she joined the AMSA.
