IAPA Holds Annual Meeting, Honors Outstanding Vendors

San Francisco and the Sonoma Wine Country provided the backdrop for the Independent Auto Parts of America (IAPA) recent annual membership meeting. IAPA's 192 members, along with family, manufacturers, suppliers and guests attended the event, which took place at the world-renowned Fairmont Hotel on May 22-25.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — San Francisco and the Sonoma Wine Country provided the backdrop for the Independent Auto Parts of America (IAPA) recent annual membership meeting. IAPA’s 192 members, along with family, manufacturers, suppliers and guests attended the event, which took place at the world-renowned Fairmont Hotel on May 22-25.

Strategy sessions, round table discussions and presentations were held in conjunction with area wine tours, a golf outing and an awards banquet.

After enjoying a tour of the Sonoma Wine Country, members focused on business with a presentation by Wrenchead CEO Bryan Murphy, who spoke about eCommerce tactics. Murphy’s presentation revealed how to beat the competition and drive down business costs using this technology. A vendor reception followed the meeting

“What Tools Does the Independent Jobber Need to Survive?” was the topic of Monday’s roundtable discussions, which followed the group’s marketing presentation to vendors. The afternoon was set aside for golf or additional tours.

During the annual meeting, Cardone Industries was named IAPA Vendor of the Year. Dayco received the award for Outstanding Manpower Support. Wix Filtration Division of Dana was honored with the Outstanding Shipping Performance award and Outstanding Marketing Support went to Tenneco Automotive.
