Visteon Continues Expansion in Asia Pacific Region

Visteon is continuing to expand in China and the Asia Pacific region. The company recently broke ground for its YanFeng Visteon Technical Facility and opened an Asia Pacific corporate office. The two new facilities in China will further support the company's expanding business in the region. In 2003, Visteon recorded $1.5 billion in sales for Asia Pacific -- an increase of approximately 25 percent from 2002 revenue of $1.2 billion in the region.

SHANGHAI, China — Visteon is continuing to expand in China and the Asia Pacific region. The company recently broke ground for its YanFeng Visteon Technical Facility and opened an Asia Pacific corporate office.

The two new facilities in China will further support the company’s expanding business in the region. In 2003, Visteon recorded $1.5 billion in sales for Asia Pacific — an increase of approximately 25 percent from 2002 revenue of $1.2 billion in the region.

Visteon has been increasing its presence in the Asia Pacific region for more than 10 years. Today, Visteon operates more than 20 manufacturing facilities in China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, the Philippines and India, serving a variety of global and regional automakers.

“One of Visteon’s most notable advantages is that we have a great foundation on which to continue building,” said Robert Pallash, Visteon’s vice president for Asia Pacific and Asian original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers. “Our experience and breadth of resources in China, and throughout the region, position us to meet the challenges of interfacing with many different customers with a wide range of requirements.”

The new YanFeng Visteon Technical Center is expected to open by October 2005. It will be located in Cao He Jing, Shanghai, China, and will serve as Visteon’s engineering hub for the region. Once opened, the center will house Visteon engineers and support staff, along with engineers from YanFeng Visteon (YFV), a 50-50 joint venture with SAIC.
