Intermet Names Timothy Gilliland Vice President, Light Metals

Intermet Corp., a leading manufacturer of cast-metal automotive components, has named Timothy Gilliland to the position of vice president, light metals. Gilliland joined Intermet in October of last year as general manager of the Racine, Wis., casting and machining operations. Based at the company's headquarters in Troy, Mich., Gilliland will also serve as a member of the company's corporate operating committee.

TROY, MI — Intermet Corp., a leading manufacturer of cast-metal automotive components, has named Timothy Gilliland to the position of vice president, light metals.

In this position, he reports to President and CEO Gary Ruff and assumes responsibility for all Intermet light metals casting and machining operations.

Gilliland joined Intermet in October of last year as general manager of the Racine, Wis., casting and machining operations. Based at the company’s headquarters in Troy, Mich., Gilliland will also serve as a member of the company’s corporate operating committee.

Gilliland joined Intermet from J.L. French Corp, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of cast-metal automotive components, where he served as vice president of quality. Prior to his time at J.L. French, he was vice president at CMI International in the CMI Polymers division and also served as vice president and general manager at CMI’s Precision Mold division. He was also a plant manager with Amcast Corp. and began his career at General Motors.
