Carter Taking Lead in Helping Aftermarket Professionals Eliminate Comebacks and Product Returns

Carter Fuel Delivery Products has developed a variety of innovative training tools and other materials to help aftermarket professionals eliminate customer comebacks and products returns associated with the diagnosis and repair of fuel system problems on millions of late-model vehicles.

LOGANSPORT, IN — Carter Fuel Delivery Products has developed a variety of innovative training tools and other materials to help aftermarket professionals eliminate customer comebacks and products returns associated with the diagnosis and repair of fuel system problems on millions of late-model vehicles.

Carter has introduced an interactive Fuel Delivery Diagnostics Guide, available online and in CD format, that helps technicians unlock the secrets to hundreds of common fuel delivery issues and ensure a complete, lasting repair on virtually any popular vehicle make or model. This free guide is intended to help technicians and shops reverse the increasing incidence of fuel system-related comebacks, which can dramatically impact business profitability and customer loyalty. The Web-based version is available at carterfueldelivery.com; the CD program is available through Carter distributors and Federal-Mogul sales representatives.

The Federal-Mogul Technical Education Center (F-M TEC) also has developed a comprehensive online counterman training program designed to help parts professionals provide increased value to their installer customers by providing helpful fuel delivery troubleshooting tips.

“We’re committed to helping aftermarket businesses enhance their competitive advantage in the fuel systems marketplace,” said Joe Stephan, director of marketing-fuel, chassis and brake products for Federal-Mogul. “The reality of today’s underhood service market is that shops and their parts suppliers have one chance to do the job right; if we fail to solve the customer’s fuel delivery problem the first time, we might lose that consumer relationship to a vehicle dealership service department. Our new training resources and problem-solving Carter products represent a significant investment in the long-term growth of our customers’ businesses.”

In addition to the diagnostic guide and counterman training module, the Carter Web site offers a broad range of print-based training materials available via download. These materials include a growing number of technical service bulletins developed by instructors at F-M TEC and Carter “Fuel Tech Solutions” product introduction fliers, which cover the brand’s latest problem-solving components for domestic and foreign-nameplate applications.

The Carter Web site also provides detailed information on Carter electrical and mechanical fuel pumps and assemblies, Hi-Performance fuel pumps and an array of fuel system accessories.

“These resources will help not only the shop owner and technician, but also the jobber and distributor, who are receiving a growing number of returned fuel components that aren’t defective,” Stephan said. “That means we and other fuel system suppliers need to do more to ensure the technician and counterperson have better information for troubleshooting today’s fuel delivery issues. Carter is stepping forward to make this happen.”
