Pirelli’s Mauro Pessi Named Brembo Managing Director

Following the consensual exit of the former managing director Stefano Monetini on May 20, Brembo’s board of directors, chaired by Alberto Bombassei, has offered Mauro Pessi a seat on the Board of Brembo S.p.A. Pessi was also appointed managing director.

STEZZANO, ITALY– Following the consensual exit of the former managing director Stefano Monetini on May 20, Brembo’s board of directors, chaired by Alberto Bombassei, has offered Mauro Pessi a seat on the Board of Brembo S.p.A. Pessi was also appointed managing director.

Pessi holds a business administration degree from Bocconi University and comes to Brembo from Pirelli Pneumatici S.p.A., the organization with which he has spent his entire professional career to date, having started in product marketing and filled various posts in the company, including spells as director of OE and aftermarket sales for different areas (Italy, Europe and the United States). For the two years before joining Brembo, he was CEO of Pirelli South America.

Pessi leaves Pirelli by mutual agreement with the group’s top management and returns to Europe to take on a new professional challenge.

Commenting on the appointment, Alberto Bombassei, chairman of Brembo S.p.A., said, "We will be looking for a strong contribution from Mauro Pessi to the company’s future expansion, which must be pursued both by boosting organic growth and by identifying new opportunities in developing markets and in areas of business offering synergies with those where Brembo is already established."
