2007 Readers Choice Awards Announced

For 11 straight years, Underhood Service, ImportCar and Brake & Front End magazines have recognized the advertisers who are the foremost communicators in the industry with their annual Readers' Choice Award. Given to only 10 companies from each magazine, the winners are determined by surveys conducted by Babcox Research that ask readers which ads they recall seeing and reading.

AKRON, Ohio – For 11 straight years, Underhood Service, ImportCar and Brake & Front End magazines have recognized the advertisers who are the foremost communicators in the industry with their annual Readers’ Choice Award. Given to only 10 companies from each magazine, the winners are determined by surveys conducted by Babcox Research that ask readers which ads they recall seeing and reading.

The 2007 Readers’ Choice Award winners, by magazine, are:

Brake & Front End: Akebono, ALLDATA, Bendix, Mac Tools, Monroe Brakes, Monroe Shocks and Struts, NAPA Brakes, Performance Friction, Raybestos and Timken.

ImportCar: ACDelco, ALLDATA, Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper, BWD, Monroe Brakes, NGK Spark Plugs, Rotary Lift, Toyota, Walker Exhaust Systems and WORLDPAC.

Underhood Service: ALLDATA, Airtex, Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper, Delphi, Identifix, Jasper Engines & Transmissions, Mac Tools, NAPA Brakes, NGK Spark Plugs and OTC.

"Of the hundreds of advertisers who seek readers’ attention, these companies are among the best," said Publisher Jeff Stankard. "They recognize that repair shop owners and managers consistently cite trade magazines as the leading source of product and technical information, and when you combine an effective advertising message with a market-specific magazine, you get a marketing program that delivers results."

Recipients of Brake & Front End, ImportCar and Underhood Service are determined by matching the magazine content to the source of the majority of the shop’s service revenue (undercar, underhood or import). While the total circulation of the three magazines is 110,000 unique shop locations, each repair shop is provided with only one magazine. Underhood Service magazine serves 40,500 repair shop owners whose businesses are concentrated on under-the-hood repairs. ImportCar is received by 29,000 import specialist repair shop operators. Brake & Front End magazine serves 40,500 repair shop owners whose businesses are concentrated on under-the-car repairs.
