Osram Sylvania Announces Major Investment at Hillsborough Plant

Osram Sylvania Makes Major Investment at Hillsborough Plant

Osram Sylvania says the investment will enhance the company's production and distribution and bring 75 to 100 new jobs to Hillsborough, NH.

Osram Sylvania, located in Hillsborough, NH, for more than 70 years, announced a multimillion-dollar investment into the plant.

“We’ve got some space within the plant that we’re able to streamline our operations, do this much more reliably and much more efficiently,” said CEO Mark Savoy.

The plant already produces hundreds of thousands of Sylvania light bulbs each day, and it will soon package the bulbs, as well. The investment will enhance the company’s production and distribution and bring 75 to 100 new jobs to Hillsborough, according to Osram Sylvania.

“And those jobs are really across all functions,” Savoy added. “If people are interested in sales, marketing, engineering and manufacturing, there’s all kinds of jobs.”

Like many industries, there have been supply chain issues with automotive light bulbs. Osram Sylvania said the investment will ensure that outlets across the country are able to stock up on lights.

“We will continue to manufacture the bulbs that we have in the past, but we will now be integrating into our facility all of the packaging operations that will then send the product out to the field for distribution to our retail partners,” Savoy said.
