ElectraMeccanica Provides Update on Mesa Assembly Facility

On-track to be open in Summer 2022, the facility will assemble an enhanced, U.S-built 2023 model year SOLO EV.

ElectraMeccanica Vehicles Corp., a designer and manufacturer of electric vehicles revolutionizing the urban driving experience, has provided a status update regarding the progress of its Mesa Assembly Facility.

The facility in Mesa, Arizona, is the company’s new 235,000-square-foot U.S. assembly and engineering technical center, which is on-track and scheduled to be commissioned in the summer of 2022 with the purpose of assembling an enhanced, U.S-built 2023 model year SOLO EV.

The first flex line at the facility will have the ability to produce up to 20,000 vehicles per year – by Americans for Americans – enables domestic assembly operations within the U.S. and European target market. This allows the company to apply U.S. world-class manufacturing standards to preparation, delivery and inspection of vehicles that are going to its customers in a cost-effective, localized way.

Kevin Pavlov, CEO of ElectraMeccanica commented, “To say I am pleased with the execution of our entire team is an understatement. Our team continues their hard work and dedication on all fronts. As we work to finalize the facility, we are concurrently working in other ElectraMeccanica facilities to identify assembly best-practices to ensure an optimized, highly efficient production line.

“As we continue to execute and deliver vehicles, we have built out sales, logistics and service networks to support all near-term delivery targets as we ramp production and sales. The U.S. base of operations in Mesa, Arizona is a critical component to this cohesive strategy,” concluded Pavlov.
