RainEater Wiper Blades Seeking A Buyer

RainEater Wiper Blades Seeking A Buyer

After 12 years building a powerful brand, Founder Lance Thorton says COVID has shut the business down.

Erie Automotive Aftermarket Holdings Inc. has announced it is seeking a new owner for RainEater wiper blades.

“Twelve years ago, I put $400 in the business bank account. We reached at our peak [at] over 4,000 retail locations,” said Lance Thornton, founder of RainEater Wiper Blades. “COVID has hit our business hard,” he continued.

COVID caused more then 15% of the company’s customers to close their doors and supply chain issues at the ports has added to the struggles to survive post -COVID, said the company.

“Between inventory struggles and labor to run our routes, it’s time we find a buyer who can take the brand to the next level,” said Jeff Fatica, CEO. “COVID is to blame for this tough decision.”

RainEater Wiper Blades is owned by Erie Automotive Aftermarket Holding, Inc. and headquartered on the shores of Lake Erie, PA.

RainEater is one of the leading wiper blade brands in the $12-billion market, with locations selling directly to professional auto service centers across the Midwest and East Coast.

RainEater Wiper Blades continues to be recognized as one of the leading brands in nearly all trend reports. The company will continue to operate and fulfill orders until a new buyer of the company or brand is found.

“In the past we have been approached by many retailers and wiper blade manufacturers to purchase our brand. I believe RainEater’s new home should be with another manufacturer or a retailer as a house brand,” Thornton stated.

The goal is to find a buyer before the new year, he added. All inquirers should contact Lance Thornton or Jeff Fatica directly.
