Bo Fisher Honored With Mort Schwartz Excellence In Education Award

Bo Fisher Given Mort Schwartz Excellence In Education Award

The award was announced during the Auto Care Association Fall Leadership Days, held last month.

Bo Fisher, chairman and CEO of Fisher Auto Parts, was recently honored with the Mort Schwartz Excellence in Education Award by the Auto Care Association. The award was announced during the association’s Fall Leadership Days, held last month.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this recognition, especially when the award is named after one of the titans of the automotive aftermarket,” said Fisher. “My dad stressed the importance of training and education throughout his career and we are proud to have continued to honor his legacy with our scholarship and training programs.”

For decades, Fisher has continued and expanded upon his father’s focus on education. Because Art Fisher was a long-time proponent of education and training in the aftermarket, the annual Art Fisher Memorial Scholarship program was established in his memory, awarding substantial scholarships to students enrolled in the automotive aftermarket management program at Northwood University.

Fisher Auto Parts also provides 25 scholarships yearly to support students pursuing careers in the aftermarket and sponsors the annual KOI/ Fisher Training Cavalcade in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to his role at Fisher Auto Parts, Fisher has served as chairman of the board of Federated Auto Parts since 1998. He also is co-chairman of the Automotive Parts Services Group (The Group), which offers its members and their customers The Group Training Academy, an online training platform designed for professional technicians, shop owners and managers.

The Mort Schwartz Excellence in Education Award is annually presented to an individual who demonstrates a passion for advancing the concepts and programs for education and continuing education in the North American auto care industry.
