Edelbrock Creates And Fills 2 New Product Manager Positions

William Philippin and David Page join the company in these newly created roles.

Edelbrock, a leading manufacturer and distributor of aftermarket performance parts, has appointed William Philippin as its new product manager for Crate Engines. In his new position Philippin is responsible for all of Edelbrock’s Crate Engines, including the Edelbrock-Musi 555 Crate Engine. Philippin’s duties include product planning and execution throughout the Crate Engine Lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the Crate Engine product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue goals are met and customer satisfaction is achieved.

Philippin has extensive powertrain and crate engine experience including developing program timing, business cases, and proposals for new crate engine projects based on trends and competitive benchmarking. He was also involved with designing and releasing vehicle engine accessories from concept to the customers hands, directing aftermarket and production suppliers to execute performance parts programs to meet product goals, and more. He also supported customer facing and motorsports events such as NHRA Nationals, Hot Rod Power Tour, Woodward Dreamcruise, Autorama, SEMA and PRI.

Philippin’s impressive hands-on experience includes designing and fabricating a twin 57mm turbocharger system for his 2000 Corvette, modifying and calibrating an LS1 engine for nitrous oxide application for integration into his 1989 Mazda RX-7, serving as Team Captain for Champcar SBC V8 RX-7, and more. He has extensive experience using machine shop tools and is familiar with a multitude of machining techniques and capabilities.

For the past nine years, Philippin worked at General Motors, where he held several increasingly responsible positions culminating in his last position of Performance Parts Crate Engine Product Manager. “Edelbrock has great plans for the future,” says Philippin. “I am excited to be here and look forward to contributing to their growth.”

Philippin resides in Walls, MS a suburb of Memphis. He has a B.S. In Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Philippin’s currently owns the following vehicles: 1964 Buick Electra Convertible, 1982 Chevrolet C10, 1987 Mazda RX7 Chevy 350 Chumpcar, 1994 Mazda RX7, 1997 Honda Civic Ice Race Car, 2000 Chevrolet Corvette FRC, 2016 Chevrolet SS, and a 2018 GMC Sierra 6.2L with an Edelbrock 2650 Supercharger.

Edelbrock also has appointed David Page as new product manager for Forced Induction Products. In his new position, Page will coordinate the efforts of the Edelbrock team and its resources to grow the presence of the Edelbrock brand in the Forced Induction market. This will include casting a vision for the product line, helping identify opportunities for new products, represent the group at trade shows, and more.

Page brings more than three decades of hands-on and professional experience in the performance automotive aftermarket component industry starting from age 14 when he raced go-karts. His experience includes building Drag and Dirt Street Stock cars, tuning Land Speed/Standing Mile record holders with both Turbo Charged and Nitrous power adders, Off Road Rock Bouncers, Ultra 4 Off Road buggies, Boats, Drag cars, and Show/Street cars.

Page has spent the past 15 years with COMP Performance Group holding several tech and sales positions including technical training director, which he held prior to taking the new product manager position. Before coming to COMP, Page owned his own performance automotive shop and construction company. “Edelbrock has a great reputation and terrific people,” says Page. “I look forward to my new position and helping the company exceed its goals.”

Page resides in Brighton, TN, a suburb of Memphis, where he is active in the local community. He holds a B.S, degree from the University of Memphis as well additional certifications. He also is currently running for a position on the SEMA HRIA Select Committee. When his new position allows, Page will continue working on his 1989 Mustang (Drag car project), and a Baja 212 Islander speed boat with a Supercharged 6.2L Chevy engine.
