Prestolite Electric Earns ‘Best New Product’ From GPC

The company was recognized for its PowerPro Extreme 10 starter, commonly known as the “M128” motor.

Prestolite Electric was recently awarded the “Best New Product” distinction from the Genuine Parts Co.’s Asia Pacific (GPC AP) organization for the company’s PowerPro Extreme 10 starter, commonly known as the “M128” motor.

GPC AP representatives acknowledged that, with its light weight and high torque, the M128 was a game-changer in heavy-duty starter design. Customers can now change these units on many common applications without a two-man lift and market uptake has been very positive, says Prestolite Electric.

Prestolite Electric manufacturers a variety of 100-percent new premium starters and alternators that are available to original equipment manufacturers and distributed to the aftermarket around the world.

“We take great pride in engineering and manufacturing starter motors that absolutely thrive in even the most extreme environments and applications, and we’re excited to have earned this award from GPC Asia Pacific for our popular M128 starter,” said Prestolite Electric’s Vice President of Sales for North America, South America and Australia Nick Laenen.

Manufactured to deliver industry-leading starting performance, PowerPro Extreme 24V starters are engineered to provide starting power for up to 40L engines and include an entire package of highly engineered features to help reduce operating and maintenance costs and increase vehicle uptime, including a high-torque, high-power design, planetary gear reduction, rotatable flanges, soft start relays and more. The latest 100-percent new starter motors are available now through leading replacement parts distributors.
